When to call it

Our base defense. Call it unless there's a reason not to.

Tap a player to see just their job on the field.

• RRusher — Pressure the QBLine up where the ref allows rushers. At the snap, sprint at the QB's throwing shoulder with your hands up. Go for the flag, never the body.
• LCLeft corner — Short, left outsideAnything short and outside on your side is yours. Don't let anyone get to the sideline behind you.
• LMLeft middle — Short, left middleGuard the short middle on your side. Slants and crossers come through here. Get in their way.
• RMRight middle — Short, right middleGuard the short middle on your side. Slants and crossers come through here. Get in their way.
• RCRight corner — Short, right outsideAnything short and outside on your side is yours. Don't let anyone get to the sideline behind you.
• LSLeft safety — Deep, left halfStay deeper than the deepest receiver on your half. Nobody gets behind you, ever.
• RSRight safety — Deep, right halfStay deeper than the deepest receiver on your half. Nobody gets behind you, ever.

Rules

• Cover grass, not people. Stay in your area until the ball is thrown.
• Safeties: if a receiver runs deep on your half, they're yours. Stay on top of them.
• When the ball is thrown, everyone sprints to it.
• Rusher: keep the QB inside. Don't let them run around you.

Keys to making it work

• A short catch is fine. Pull the flag right away and it's a 5-yard gain.
• Break down before you pull a flag. Chop your feet, don't lunge.
• No diving for flags. It's a penalty.
